Magnetic Therapy Helps Chronic Pelvic Pain

A recent randomized controlled study shows that pelvic floor electromagnetic therapy reduces pain in men with chronic pelvic pain syndrome.

The study was published in the June, 2005 Journal of Urology,

Men who were categorized as category III prostatitis were treated either with magnetic therapy or placebo therapy, twice weekly for four weeks.

Symptom scores decreased significantly for the men who received the magnetic therapy and remained decreased at 3 months and 1 year after treatment. Pain was the symptom that improved the most during the study.
